Brown cloth, with titling and decorative elements stamped in gilt on spine and front cover; dustjacket; xxxvi,889,[3]pp, with portrait frontispiece and 17 plates of illustrations. Lightly rubbed at edges, slight foxing and dustiness to edges of textblock, foxing to endleaves but contents clean: Very Good or better. Jacket unclipped (priced 21/- net), rubbed and dustsoiled, with short tears and chips at folds: just Very Good.
