Jacket would be FINE but for a tiny crimp at the top of its spine. 8" wide by 10" tall. First printing with "First published 1992" so stated and complete number row (13579 10 8642) on the copyright page. Beautifully illustrated with hundreds of photos and drawings (some in full color), plus many reproductions of Potter's original handwritten letters and sketches. Includes Potter's letters to various children where for the first time she told the Peter Rabbit stories [Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Peter]. "The chief recipients [of these letters] were the family of [Beatrix Potter's] former governess, Annie Moore… As she became established as an author she continued to write to young relatives, members of her publisher's family and the enthusiastic fans who loved her books… The picture letters and miniature letters are shown in facsimile and the book is illustrated with photographs and Beatrix Potter's own drawings.
