Philadelphia: Printed for Samuel Delap, 1775. An early American edition. Hardcover. Poor. frontis, [4], [1], 6-124p. Old (contemporary?) boards backed in leather (five thin hubs). 17 cm. Some indecipherable (by us) writing on front cover. Former owner's name ("Richard Downing Jr.") on title-page and recto of frontis leaf. Front pastedown no longer pasted down and rear pastedown now partially unpasted. Frontis detached. A worn copy which is textually intact in what seems likely to be the original binding. An American edition of this classic published just a year before the Revolutionary War began.
