About This Item

Sony Pictures Classics, 2005. DVD Movie. Starring Jérémie Renier, Déborah François, Jérémie Ségard, Fabrizio Rongione. 96 minutes. In French with optional English subtitles. Widescreen format. Fine copy with original artwork. A young man, who has not yet found his moral compass and who is involved in petty crime, has a baby with his girlfriend. He sells the baby for cash but soon regrets what he has done. It is just the beginning, though, of a downward spiral. The question is what the title refers to: the baby or the young man himself? This film won the Palme d'or, the top prize at Cannes in 2005.
