Paris: Croulbois, 1785 Hard cover, 8vo., pp [4] xxxiv [2] 522 [6]. French text. Leather binding with gold lettering to spine, which has five raised bands. Condition: Very Good Minus. Covers very worn at corners. Some loss to head and tail of spine. Outer joint cracked at head and tail. Hinges firm. First few pages have dog-ear creases. Very small chip missing from the corner of one page (not affecting text). Pages browned with age. ** Pierre Bertholon (1741 - 1800) was a French priest and physicist, known for his works on electricity. He was influenced by his friend, Benjamin Franklin, and procured lightning rods for the protection of southern France.
