1868 Japanese Loyal Vassal Samurai 47 Ronin Pirates Illustrated RARE Kateshima
A rare, 19th century Japanese woodblock print of "Legends of the Loyal Vassals." This edition by Takenori Kateshima includes stories of ambassadors, pirates, military commanders and notably the story of the Ako incident concerning the 47 ronin and the mission to avenge the death of their master, Asano Naganori, which has been told in kabuki, bunraku, stage plays, films, novels, and television shows ranking among the most popular of all historical stories in Japan.
This rare, collection is written in a column woodblock print format with furigana for easier reading with illustrations throughout.
