Scarce second issue of Maureen Owen's long-running magazine, printed at The Poetry Project in NYC; includes a very early Jim Carroll collaboration with Ted Berrigan and Bill Berkson, plus work from the time and place. Staining near bottom edge (mainly affecting back cover and flast interior leaf), else a bit of general reading wear and soil.

Small 8vo. 75pp. Patterned boards featuring a handsome design by Laurence Binyon, slightly water-stained at the top edges and worn at the backstrip ends. Front endpaper hinge tender and one section joint cracked. Some slight fox-spotting and the endpapers browned. A good copy. Dark purplish-blue grained cloth lettered in gold at the spine. A small area of discolouration to the head of the backstrip where the dust wrapper is defective, paperstock very lightly tanned and with just a hint of spotting to the title page and to very occasional text leaves. A very crisp copy in non-price-clipped dust wrapper, tanned at the spine panel with a single small area of loss, and with a little further uneven tanning to the front and rear panels. Former owner name neatly inked to the head of the front free endpaper, along side a date to the base of the front pastedown (this last obscured by the wrapper flap). Larkin's second mature appearance in print. The correct first edition of the author's uncommon second book, preceding the US edition which was printed from these Cresset Press sheets. 8vo. 95pp. Green cloth lettered in gold at the spine and upper board, and with the fore- and bottom edges rough-trimmed. A light scattering of spotting to the top edge and free endpapers, with just a touch more to several preliminary leaves. A lengthy but light crease to the front free endpaper. A very crisp copy in the scarce dust wrapper, non-price-clipped but tanned at the spine panel and with some spotting and a little edge-chafing. A short crease to the base of the front wrapper flap..

First edition - the uncommon first state, which was subsequently withdrawn and pulped; this copy seemingly the publisher's file copy, with that text lightly inkstamped to the front free endpaper. 8vo. 66pp. Green cloth lettered in gold at the spine. A fine copy in non-price-clipped dust wrapper, just slightly faded at spine panel and at the head of the upper panel, and with a small sliver of staining to the lower edge. Thirty Betjeman poems accompanied by a Piper frontispiece and seventeen line drawings, several of them full-page. Printing errors impacting the poems 'Bristol and Clifton' and 'Sunday Afternoon in St. Enodoc Church, Cornwall' necessitated a complete recall and a corrected edition was published the following year.
