The flyleaf notes that Brent-Dyer has a capacity for 'satisfying the schoolgirl's taste for fun and adventure.' 'The Chalet School' series contained approximately sixty school story novels by Elinor Brent-Dyer. They were initially published between 1925 and 1970. In original paper covered boards and held in original, price-clipped dustwrapper. Externally, vert smart with slight fading to the extremities and to the head and tail of spine. Dustwrapper has small chips to the head and tail of spine and several spots and marks to wraps. Prior owner has covered wrap in plastic adhesive including tape for preservative purposes. Tape has faded in places. Prior owner has pasted an illustration of a young girl to the half-title page. Some offsetting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Foredge is heavily spotted, affecting the page edges. Occasional light scattered spots to pages, heavier to first and last few pages. Tape repair to page 141. Good
