Appleton, first edition 1918.. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Illustrated with four plates by Henry Hutt. 361 pages, 19 x 13cm. A very good clean copy, with only slight age browning of the preliminary pages. In the original price clipped dust jacket, which is a little soiled and edge frayed. Robert W Chambers, 1865-1933, was a popular and prolific American novelist, active in the last quarter of the 19th century and in the first third of the 20th century. He is better known today for his pioneering supernatural and weird collection of short stories The King in Yellow, published in 1895. Very scarce in dust jacket.
