About This Item
London:Michael Joseph, (1966). First Edition. hard cover. Very Good/Good. London:Michael Joseph. (1966). 1st edition. 261pp. Illustrated. Hardcover with dust jacket. A very good clean copy. A drop of something to the picture page opposite page 65 has left a small discoloration, which continues through the next few pages, but otherwise a very good, clean copy. No previous owners marks or signatures. The binding is tight and hinges intact. The dust jacket is rubbed and shelfworn, but still near very good condition. It is not price clipped. *"This witty and enchanting memoir of childhood is set mostly in the Egypt of before the first world war. Kitchener is in the Residency, the British Empire is secure, and the author's family, with integrity and charm, are doing their difficult job of governing peoples who are getting more and more resentful."...dj

Now in our third generation, we are a famiy-run, general book store selling new and old (often rare) books as well as issuing specialty catalogs on a variety of subjects: Americana, Latin America, Maritime, Art, the Orient and a variety of other subjects.
