The 12th legal thriller from Turow, a current master of the genre, features 85-year-old Sandy Stern, a brilliant defense lawyer with failing health and about to retire, and his old friend, Dr. Kiril Pafko, Nobel Prize winner in Medicine now charged with insider trading and murder. First edition, first printing (as stated, with complete numberline). About 6 x 9 1/4 inches, 453 pages including acknowledgements, in red paper-covered boards with black backstrip and white letting on spine. Dustjacket's front panel shows author in red lettering above title in white with graphic of front of courthouse with pillars and several flights of stone steps and in lower corner a white-haired man looking up to entrance. Back panel contains 10 blurbs praising Turow's work. Dj appears near perfect, with no tears, creases or chipping, no noticeable flaws or damage. The text and boards are clean, complete and unmarked, also without flaws or damage. Dj is not price-clipped. This is a very collectable copy. Turow's works have been translated into over 40 languages and sold more than 30 million copies.
