Moderate crinkling to paper at gutter. Pages are heavily tanned and foxed with visible markings throughout. Binding throughout is slightly loose but pages remain attached. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Slight crushing to spine ends. Gilt lettering is darkened. Moderate sunning to spine and edges. Visible wear marks to boards. Book has a slight forward lean.

Synopsis

The Last of the Mohicans is a historical novel by James Fenimore Cooper, first published in January 1826. It was one of the most popular English-language novels of its time. Its narrative flaws were criticized from the start, and its length and elaborately formal prose style have reduced its appeal to later readers. Mark Twain, in particular, was critical of the author's style: "Cooper’s art has some defects.
