Bindings are very strong (this set tends to shake itself apart), wear to the leather spine labels (still legible), no splits to the volumes, contents very clean, some original tissue guards present. 2 volumes, folio., one of 1400 sets, printed on papier velin. Volume I: [2],iv,310 pp.; Volume II: [4],369 pp. Each volume with 32 plates inserted, of which many are chromolithographs, and with numerous illustrations in the text. Nice tight copy of a classic.
