About This Item
San Francisco: William Doxey, Publisher, 1896. Wraps. Good. Illustrated wraps. 16 leaves., including covers. Several pages left blank, presumed as issued (we've had other copies of this issue with the exact same blank pages). A few black and white illustrations throughout, some by Ernest Peixotto. A single issue of this little magazine noted for its experimental attempts at printing and typography, while adopting an editorial stance that anticipated Modernist work and used humor and nonsense to satirize literary culture at the time. This issue with a few short poems, essays and other work, including poetry style work titled "An Unfinished Chapter from the Anarchists." GOOD condition. Minor toning, soiling, wrinkling and edgewear. Minor chipping and tearing along the edges, with minor loss. Faint vertical fold crease present. (MacLeod, American Little Magazines, p. 344 and others).
