First American printing, very good + cloth hardcover with bit of a musty smell at least for now shows mild rubbing to cover edges, foxing to page edges and some other light trace wear, in very good dust jacket (price at flap) that shows a wrinkle to rear flap, bit of rubbing and edgewear that includes short closed tears. 381 pages with index, black & whites and endpaper maps. Remains an attractive copy of this work that "..is exploration reading and historical detection to absorb the general reader and fill vital historical gaps for the experts.
