The author takes the reader on a tour of the Smokies, and recounts the traces the history, the people, the legends, the geology and wild life of the mountains. In addtion she recounts the efforts at preserving and creating the Smoky Mountain National Park. Illustrated with end paper maps and b&w photos throughout including a frontis photograph of "Old Smoky." Original wheat color covers with black and gilt spine and cover lettering. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates. ; B&W Photographs; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 212 pages; Signed by Author .
