Cambridge at the University Press, 1913. First edition. Illustrated with a frontispiece and 39 plates, five maps (of which three are folding), pp xii, 283, (i), some age-toning and marking throughout, upper corner bumped and bruised throughout, blue-green cloth bumped at the corners, a little marked, the upper cover with a faint crease (which also shows on the front endpaper) and a very faint impression which suggests it might have had a label at one time (possibly a circulating library ? - but there are no other marks), the spine faded, a bit frayed at the head and tail. VERY SCARCE.. First Edition. Cloth. Good.

These accounts were written in journalistic form from the diary of Stephen Olin giving in detail his experiences on his voyage. Olin goes into detail about his time among the Pyramids in Egypt among the embalmed dead, in Athens Greece and Rome, his time in Jerusalem visiting 'Holy sites,' and many other places and sights along his voyage.
This 1860 edition includes 12 steel engraved plates with a large fold out map frontispiece of Jerusalem.
