London: Frederick Warne, 1932 New, revised edition, the autograph edition limited to 350, copy no. 246, signed by the author and the artist. Includes new preface for his edition. The title was first published by Dent in 1902. HB. Green cloth lettered in gilt to spine and to front cover, no dustjacket. Gilt top page edges. xv, 367pp, large quarto. With folding map at back. Beautifully illustrated with 16 colour plates from watercolours by Smith, with titled guard leaves, and 72 pen and ink drawings in text by him. The text includes articles by various authors on Birds, Butterflies and Moths, Flora, Geology, Fox-hunting, Mountaineering, Yachting, Motor-Boating, Fishing, Shooting and Cycling plus a Gazetteer. A Very Good+ clean copy, with some foxing to endpapers.
