1869. SCOTT, Sir Walter. THE LADY OF THE LAKE. Edinburgh: Adam and Charles Black, 1871. Re-issue of the Author's edition, with 11 mounted albumen photographs, and wood engravings after Birket Foster and John Gilbert. [10] + 375 pp. 8vo., pebbled back morocco stamped in gilt and blind, with King's College insignia on front cover (Coll. Reg. Lond.) Front cover detached, boards with gilt dentelles slightly worn at corners. Spine chipped 1/2 inch at heel. All edges gilt. College and personal bookplates to front endpapers. Moderate foxing to egdes of frontispiece (photo) mount and title page; interior clean except for some light offset from tissue guards on photo mounts. Scenic Scotland, including lovely images of Lock-Katrine and the Western Highlands of Perthshire. Photos in very good condition and most are about 7.5 x 10.5 cm. Binding tight.
