About This Item
Henry T. Coates & Co. (*Porter & Coates), 1884. Hardcover. Very Good. A Very Good volume, with date on copyright page. But the publisher (created when Robert Porter retired from Porter & Coates in 1895) implies a later date. Collectible as a scarce imprint. Book Boards are decorated in holiday red and green berries; the extremities are shelf worn (corners a bit more so). A script previous name on blank front free end-paper at top edge. Red spine cloth is just starting to fray at crown and foot. Printed on glossy stock, there are 22 b/w illustrations by well known artists. Interior pages are clean, tight with No markings. A lovely copy of a classic Tennyson poem. Appears to have had many different bindings issued. Protected in a mylar slip.
