In a very fine internal condition. ~ FIRST EDITION, corrected. This work again strengthened Necker's (1732-1804) popularity. It contributed to his return as directeur-général des finances in 1788, after his dismissal in 1781. It is a valuable book "to those who would study how the finances of France were managed in the last days of the old regime." (Palgrave 1894-1901).
