About This Item
A fairly rare title from Gene Stratton-Porter. Dust jacket shows a fair amount of wear and a water stain on the rear. To prevent further damage, a previous owner encased it in a mylar bookcover. The book has light blue fabric covered boards, with darker blue print on the front and spine. There is some wear to the fabric at the corners and head and tail of the spine. The water stain from the dust jacket is evident on the rear, but goes no further than that. The pages are clean, tight and intact, with no hinge splits. The top edges are dyed black. The front free endpaper has been cut out and the pages are a bit tanned from age. Originally published in 1913 by Doubleday and Page, I'd say this volume was likely published about 1940, based on the other books listed on the back of the dust jacket. (Grosset & Dunlap were never very good about giving dates of publication.)
