Condition: Good, would be classed as very good except that the front endpaper has a crease to the lower right corner. Binding sound, inscribed by author to a previous owner on the title page "for Mary and family, with particular happy memories of days drawing and being helped to recognise beauty in all forms. Love Liz". Dustjacket condition: Very good, with very light shelfwear. 144pp. Illustrated with approx. 100 b/w photographs. In this book, the author tells the story of the lacemaking villages of Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Nottinghamshire, from the earliest beginnings of the craft. Practical tips are also given on how to protect and use old vellum prickings, and a selection of antique prickings is provided for the reader to try. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
