About This Item
George Allen & Unwin Ltd, 1950. 1st edition. Hardcover. Fine red cloth, pages and endpapers very clean, a little spotting on the front text block, the topstain still bright, the original 1950 owner's bookplate under the front flap. Signed by the author at the top of the front endpaper. In a very near fine dustjacket, a tiny closed tear at lower flap fold, not price-clipped. A very nice copy of the famous account of the journey made by Heyerdahl and five companions from the coast of Peru to the Pacific Islands. Very scarce with Heyerdahl's signature.
