A nearly unobtainable 1876 edition. Before listing this book, I researched every major book site in the world and came across one. I did find some old records of others, but they had sold out long ago. The closest edition I could locate is a later 1876 printing with a different cover listed for over $1,000. It's a Unicorn Book. Without any question, this is one of the most thorough, beautiful, and finest books of the Knights Templars and Masonic texts ever produced during the Victorian or any other era. This is not only a beautiful book but a historically important one. They don't make them this good anymore; I don't think they ever will. I would snag this one before it's gone...

"This revolutionary order of knights lived as monks and took vows of poverty and chastity, but these were monks with a difference – they would take up arms as knights to protect the civilians using the dangerous roads of the newly conquered Kingdom of Jerusalem. From these humble beginnings, the order would grow to become one of the premier Christian military forces of the Crusades."

Over the next 900 years, these warrior monks would become associated with the Holy Grail, the Freemasons, and the occult.

Within the realm of secret societies and esoteric knowledge, the Knights Templar has captivated the imagination of historians, researchers, and enthusiasts for centuries. A rare and highly sought-after gem emerges among the myriad of publications dedicated to the enigmatic order: the 1876 Knights Templar book. This article delves into the intriguing allure and unique qualities of this scarce literary artifact, shedding light on its historical significance and the fascination it continues to evoke.

Historical Background:
The Knights Templar, a medieval Christian military order founded in the early 12th century, played a significant role during the Crusades. Their mystique and alleged esoteric practices have fueled countless legends and conspiracy theories over the years. This 1876 Knights Templar book emerged during a period of renewed interest in the order, as scholars and enthusiasts sought to uncover its hidden wisdom and unravel its historical legacy.

This edition stands out as a remarkable rarity within the realm of Templar literature. Published during the Victorian era, it reflects the era's fascination with secret societies, symbolism, and historical exploration. This particular edition holds distinct qualities that contribute to its exceptional status among collectors and researchers alike.

The overall condition of this book is good for being printed almost 150 years ago. It does have some of the typical aging attributes associated with a 19th-century book. This includes age, handling use, and shelf wear to the covers, spine, and board ends. The interior pages are naturally age-toned and will contain the occasional age spot, little mark, and reading use. However, they are very well-kept for a book of this age.

1. Limited Publication: The rarity of the 1876 Knights Templar book stems from its limited publication. Only a small number of copies were printed, making it challenging to acquire. The scarcity of this edition adds to its allure and elevates its value among collectors and Templar enthusiasts.

2. Detailed Historical Accounts: The book provides comprehensive historical accounts of the Knights Templar, drawing from primary sources, chronicles, and scholarly research available at the time. It offers a meticulous exploration of the order's origins, activities, rituals, and demise, shedding light on its role within medieval society.

3. Intricate Symbolism and Illustrations: The book features intricate symbolism and captivating illustrations, showcasing the visual aesthetics associated with the Knights Templar. These artistic depictions offer insights into the order's symbology, rituals, and mythical associations, providing a visual dimension to the narrative.

The Knights Templar, full name The United Religious, Military and Masonic Orders of the Temple and of St John of Jerusalem, Palestine, Rhodes, and Malta, is a fraternal order affiliated with Freemasonry. Unlike the initial degrees conferred in a regular Masonic Lodge, which (in most Regular Masonic jurisdictions) only require a belief in a Supreme Being regardless of religious affiliation, the Knights Templar is one of several additional Masonic Orders in which membership is open only to Freemasons who profess a belief in Christianity. One of the obligations entrants to the order are required to declare is to protect and defend the Christian faith. The word "United" in its full title indicates that more than one historical tradition and more than one actual Order are jointly controlled within this system. The individual orders 'united' within this system are principally the Knights of the Temple (Knights Templar), the Knights of Malta, the Knights of St Paul, and only within the York Rite, the Knights of the Red Cross.

Like the Masonic Red Cross of Constantine being inspired by the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George and the Order of Malta being inspired by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, the Masonic order of Knights Templar derives its name from the medieval Catholic military order Knights Templar. However, it does not claim any direct lineal descent from the original Templar order.

Robert Macoy (October 4, 1815 – January 9, 1895) was born in Armagh, Ulster County, Ireland. He moved to the United States at the age of 4 months. He was a prominent Freemason and was instrumental in founding the Order of the Eastern Star and the Amaranth. He also founded what may be the most significant Masonic publishing, regalia, and supply house currently active, Macoy Publishing & Masonic Supply Company.

Charles Greenstreet Addison (1 April 1812 – 19 February 1866) was an English barrister and historical, travel and legal writer.
