About This Item

Brooklyn: The Christian Party Press; The Christian Press, 1941. Pamphlet. Two pamphlets, one 4p., the other 8p., minor pen emendations to text. Some edgewear and toning. Both are transcripts of talks given to Haddad's followers, whom he calls Saints. Haddad established the Christian Party to put forward his concept of a new social order, and his Kingdom of God Administration Earth's Office (sic) was based in Brooklyn. We are able to find very little about him besides what he wrote in his own publications; he was born in 1899 and appears to have been from Syria. In the first pamphlet listed here, he relates that "By the grace of God, for many years day and night and under severe worldly difficulties which I think I met for my good, I have been working for the Kingdom of God and bombarding the world with literature, in order to reach you and to defeat the opponents. In 1937 directed by the Holy Spirit, I founded the Christian Party using this political title in order to let the world know that Christianity with a full social program is on its way to govern the world, including State and Church, economic, educational and all public institutions on which the welfare of individuals, families and communities depend. In the present bloody and idealistic world fire, the flames of conflict and the cracking of Satan's already divided kingdom are increasing to such an extent that many forms of its government are tumbling and being burnt; namely, Communism, Nazism, Capitalism, Human Monarchy, and even the hypocritically so called Democracy. Government is from God, by God and for God.... Jerusalem is descending from heaven and the earth is receiving it. Again to emphasize the political phase of this new development, by the grace of God, I am forming an organization under the name of The Kingdom of God Administration Office of the Earth, of which the Christian Party becomes an organ.... The Christian Party, votes for and nominates only Saints, for public officials. I believe that not only Christians, but also some of those who are not yet saved will realize the necessity for the Kingdom of God. Christ and not man is the head of humanity. Man so far has failed to establish a good government. The highest public title which the Christian Party will recognize among men is Servant No. 1 or Vice-President. The seat of Presidency belongs to the living Christ.
