About This Item
A translation of Ubu Roi, which opened in Paris in 1896. This volume includes the entire Ubu cycle for the first time in English: King Turd; King Turd Enslaved; Turd Cuckolded/ The translation is by Beverley Keith and George Legman.
Laid-in are two letters from Legman to bookseller M. J. Royer of Los Angeles, one of them attaching a carbon of the then proposed dustwrapper notice, and the other a proof sheet of page 43 with portions of 42 and 44, Also laid in is a letter from Royer to writer Theodore Reeves suggesting he meet Legman, whom e he describes as a character, 'but I think, brilliant and worth knowing."
