The first-hand experiences of Field Marshal William Riddell Birdwood, a British Army officer, during his time in conflict. He saw active service in the Second Boer War on the staff of Lord Kitchener, and again in the First World War as commander of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps during the Gallipoli Campaign in 1915. He went on to be general officer commanding the Northern Army in India in 1920. With a foreword by Sir Winston Churchill, a British statesman, soldier, and writer who twice served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with minor rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Minor fading to the spine and the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot or handling mark. Very Good
