About This Item
Washington DC: Anderson House, 1939. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. About Fine in a Very Good jacket, unclipped ($2.50), toned and soiled, rubbed at the edges, a couple small chips and closed tears. Grey buckram with dark red lettering on the spine and front board. Square and firmly bound with a dark top stain, former owner's name on the front endpaper, clean otherwise. Anderson's blank verse play about King McCloud, "an American who takes part in the Spanish Civil War, loses his faith along with his illusions, and struggles back to a faith in the end." Adapted, with significant changes, into the 1948 John Huston film starring Humphrey Bogart.
