Printed title with vignette by Fernand Léger, introduction and Ehrenburg's text with 6 monochrome plates after Léger recto only and illustrated with 8 leaves of glossy paper with 16 hors-texte monochrome illustrations recto and verso, index, leaf with publication details and booksellers pasted-in label, final leaves with advertisements. The very scarce Japanese edition of Ehrenburg's treatise on the avant garde and defence of Constructivism.This Japanese edition of Ehrenburg's work retains the illustration by Fernad Léger for the first Russian edition (the illustration for the front wrapper is here reproduced on the title in reduced format) and reproduces work by Tatlin, Picasso, Rodchenko and others as well as images from the films of Charlie Chaplin.This work is scarce and we can trace only a single copy, that at the National Diet Library, Japan.
