Top edge gilt, fore-edge deckled. VG conditon. Beautiful bright gilt decoration to cover and spine. Light rubbing/wear to boards/spine. Bookplate on front pastedown; rear pastedown has small piece (less than an inch square) peeled off. Slightly cocked. Scatttered light foxing to endpapers. Interior clean and securely bound. A lovely copy containing two titles, A Kentucky Cardinal and Aftermath, both by James Allen, "Kentucky's first important novelist", who wrote using the regional vernacular. Includes a new extended preface by the author. (cfm)
