Inscribed on the first free end paper by poet Gladys Ewing Combes: "A memento of my Poetry Pilgrimage presented for Sorosis, with warm appreciation of your inspiring participation, from Gladys Ewing Combes, November 6th, 1950" (Gladys Ewing Combes - author of "Homespun"). There is a Lesley Frost label on the inside of the front cover, the obvious recipient of this book. Leslie Frost is an author, and the daughter of poet Robert Frost. Sorosis was the first professional women's club in the United States. Its object was to further the educational and social activities of women by bringing representative women of accomplishment in art, literature, science, and kindred pursuits. Gilt on grey covers. 8vo, 76 pages. There is a small spot on the front cover.
