Professionally rebound in navy blue cloth and hamd-made marble paper (shapes and colours give an impression of black rock, white snow and pale blue ice), black leather label, b/w frontis photograph, " Kamet - The Last Few Feet ", 58 b/w photographs, 2 b/w maps and a folding map at end of book in brown and blue, " Trace Showing Route of Expedition to Kamet in 1920 ", 420pp. The book relates the story of the Kamet Expedition in 1931, the first time one of the 70 peaks over 25,000 ft. had been conquered. At the time most of these peaks were inaccessable as they were in either Tibet or Nepal, countries which did not admit climbers. Condition of the binding is "new", condition of text is vg.
