A Brief Summary of the Contents of Volume II, notes, glossary of Finnish names. Illustrated endpapers, being the initials of Everyman's Library entwined, reproduced multiple times in an orange coloured ink. Blue coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Orange coloured tint to the top text block edge. Illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. The second volume reproducing Finnish sagas at the end of the dark ages and beginning of the mediaeval period. For, as the front fold over panel blurb states, the sagas are "... Heroic but human, its men and women marched boldly through the fifty cantos, raiding, drinking, abducting, outwitting, weeping, but always active and always at odds with the very perils that confront their countrymen today: the forest, with its savage animals; it's myriad lakes and rocks and torrents; wind, fire, and darkness; and the cold." – from the introduction, quoted on the front fold over panel blurb. Everyman's Library number 260. Minor rubbing to the book corners and back strip edges. Very light age toning of the text block edges and pages. Hint of rubbing to the back strip strip corners and book corners with some sunning to the back strip. Size: 12mo (standard paperback).
