New York: Continental Publishing Company, 1897. First edition of the first book illustrated by Dixon. Small octavo. 229, [1] pp. plus 12 inserted plates (of which seven are by Dixon). Inter-textual illustrations. Publisher's patterned ochre cloth with gilt spine lettering, cover with black lettering and an Indian figure in black and brown, top edge gilt. First inserted plate loose but present, horizontal tear to pp. 225-6 (not affecting text), chip at head of spine (but only half the spine's width). A pleasing copy.
