Xxxi,500; 508[2]ff.; 515[3]; [iv]464pp. plus tables and index. Eleventh edition. The most important work of a legal scholar who edited the ninth-through-eleventh editions of Blackstone's Commentaries. A useful compendium which went into many English editions, and was also popular in the Colonies. It was the only legal book to be published in America before the Revolution, specially abridged and adapted for use in the American colonies. Internally fine, in early calf. Volumes I and II are rebacked; volumes III and IV have weak hinges, externally split.
