Handsome edition of the classic 1906 novel that prompted pure food legislation and portrayed the horrible conditions and lives of food-packing immigrants in the United States. 334 pages with some black and white and color illustrations. About six pages have extremely mild edge wear. Beautiful Easton Press treatment in full-red leather with all edges gilt and twenty-two gold gilt designs and titles.

Synopsis

The Jungle is a 1906 novel written by author and journalist Upton Sinclair. This novel was intended to highlight the poverty and misery of the immigrant working class, but ultimately became more known as an expose of the American meatpacking industry during the early-20th century.
