About This Item
London : Victor Gollancz, 1949. First edition. "He has a laboratory in which he cracks atoms much as you and I might crack nuts" - Innes in the atomic age, with stolen plans and foreign powers. "If Henry James had written a detective story, with crime, investigation and arrest complete, it would have been rather like a novel by Mr. Innes" (The Sketch, 6th July 1949). Crown 8vo (20cm). (326),[ii]pp. Original red boards, lettered in black; a touch bruised; tiny mark on front free endpaper, but still a very good and sound copy in the dust-jacket - the jacket worn, chipped, and neatly repaired, with some repaired short nicks and tears, and a little marking on the rear panel.
