About This Item
Motilal Banarsidass, Delhi, 1977. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good Condition/Good. X, 118 pages, last page blank, foreword by Joy Mills, preface by author. Dark blue coloured endpapers. Blue coloured boards with gilt titles to the backstrip. Illustrated dustwrapper with gold background and black titles to the front panel and black and white titles to the backstrip. " The book deals with the problem of Death as well as the problem of Life. Aborting the traditional approach to Death which consists of description of the After-Death condition, the author has tried to find a solution for the problems of Survival and Re-incarnation, of Communication with the dead and of the Interval between two lives. He has also dealt with the problem of Separation which Death poses to ordinary men and women. The author would prefer to call the so-called Dead as only the Departed with whom one can establish links of communication, through a wilful journey into the realms of Consciousness." -- from the front fold over panel blurb. A little rubbing to the book edges. Light age toning of the text block edges and to the internal text. Original bookseller's stamp to the lower right-hand corner of the half title page. Rubbing and chipping to the dustwrapper corners and to the backstrip edges. Browning to the rear dustwrapper panel and to the fold over edges. There is a 2 " tear to the rear spine gutter edge, 2.5 " from the top dustwrapper edge. One small close tear to the top edge of the front dustwrapper panel. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
