Hardcover, 1943, first edition, published by William Heinemann Ltd, London, 522 pages.
Measures around 8" by 5 1/2". Dust jacket is very worn, foxed, stained, scuffed and tattered at the edges with several chips out of it where it covers the spine. Dark blue cloth binding, some signs of shelf-wear, especially at spin, but quite clean. Bumped corners. Binding firm. Page edges tanned, slight marked and scuffed but reasonably clean. A few inked initials to verso of front free endpapers but otherwise page surfaces clean, with no marginalia, underlining, etc. See pictures for further information.
Synopsis
Journey Among Warriors is a book of war reportage by the French-American journalist and writer Ève Curie, first published in 1943, in which the author described her experiences during her trip to Africa, the Near East, Soviet Union, China, Burma and India, where she traveled from November 1941 to April 1942.
