Frontispieces. Color plates. Vol. I with two fold-out maps. Bound in faux red leather with gilt lettering on spine. Light foxing to endpapers and edges. Bookseller tag (Robinsons Bookshop, Frankston) on front pastedowns. Facsimile of first edition published in London by Boone, 1841. Grey, 1812 - 1898, was inexperienced and ill-prepared for such undertakings; on one occasion he and his men relying on wet mud to quench their thirst. As with so many expeditions in Australia, an enterprise best avoided.
