About This Item
Synopsis
A Journal of the Plague Year is a novel by Daniel Defoe that was first published in March 1722. This account of one man's experiences of the year 1665, in which the Great Plague struck the city of London, is a historical fiction, as Defoe was only 5 years old during the plague time. The book is told roughly chronologically, with great detail and was likely based on the journals of Defoe's uncle, Henry Foe.
