About This Item

1870 Macmillan first edition. Uncommon, only 80 copies held by WorldCat libraries.

Condition of the book is Good. The binding is straight and sound. Inside pages are complete and unmarked. The hinge is cracked but firm (glue repaired) at the front and back endpapers. Other condition issues include:

1) Moderate wear to the boards, include some loss of cloth at the head of the spine, and

2) Prior owner's bookplate (Rev Charles Hutchins) on the front pastedown endpaper. Hutchins was a prominent cleric in the 19th Century Episcopal Church.
