London: Macmillan, 1881. Hardcover. Very Good +. Vol. 1- 266 pages. Vol. 2- 298 pages. 6 x 9 in. Each volume in green half calf binding with marbled boards, spine with red, brown and black binding with gilt lettering and five raised bands, marbled end papers, top edge of text block gilt. Condition of the book is VERY GOOD+: Spine of each volume is in near perfect condition, covers show some wear esp. to corners. Small bookplate of David B. Ogden on inside of front cover, light foxing on edge of text block and on edges of a few pages in each volume, binding very tight. Vol. 1- has a water stain on cover, some light lifting of the marbled cover board and overall shows slightly more wear than Vol. 2.
