Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for library stamps on the front pastedown and the title page. Book Condition: Good +; checkout pocket on rear pastedown; soiling to boards and spine; bumping to head and tail. No DJ. Brown beveled edge cloth boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine and front board. Tipped in colored photo of Deere at frontispiece. Clean internals. Interior hinges are sound and not split. 61 pp 8vo. This book is an biography of John Deere (1804-1886) and a celebration of the 100th year of his plow being in production (1837-1937). This book covers the life of John Deere from his time as a blacksmith in Vermont, his move to Grand Detour, his relocation to Moline and his improvements on the plow that would bear his name and turn much of the soil in the Midwest and around the world. A clean very presentable copy.
