London: MacMillan, 1909. First edition. Hardback.The fourth book and first novel by the early master of the supernatural. Half leather binding of blue cloth covers. Some rubbing and marks on leather but book is still intact. 5" by nearly 8". The gilt lettering on the spine is still VG. Top edge gilt. No DW. Foxing on front and rear endpages. Marbled inside front and end covers. Elegant book plate of Mill House school inside front cover. This records that the book was presented to the school by E. E. Pralle in November 1913. 258 pages. No other inscriptions. Decorative circular borders enclosing each chapter number were designed by Edith Richardson. "Jimbo is one of the best of Blackwood's studies of the peculiar horrors and ecstacies of childhood." Bleiler. .
