Biography of A. J. Foyt's sponsor, owner of Gilmore Racing Team, who also happened to be the mayor of Kalamazoo and a television executive. Jim Gilmore's most noted achievements were the racing cars he designed which, with A. J. Foyt at the wheel, won race after race from 1973 to 1987. But heis much more than a name on Indy cars. His interests run broad and deep, both in business and civic endeavors. With radio and TV stations, car dealerships, an advertising agency and a pig farm, Jim is always on the go.
