Signed by the author with brief inscription on front free endpaper. Octavo; 184pp. Illustrated dust jacket over blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Jacket is crisp with light bumping to corners and spin ends, but no chips, tears, or marks. Spine rolled, but boards are clean and binding is sound. Pages unmarked. Mayoral invitation to a reception and exhibition titled "Washington: Symbol and City" in November 1999 laid in at front, along with a clipped review of the book.
