Paris: Flammarion, 1971. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good. 12.1" by 9". None. A lavishly-illustrated First Edition of this French translation of Mellen's monograph of Clouet. Bound in cloth with gilt lettering and unclipped dustwrapper. Translated from the English by Anne Roullet. With numerous full-page illustrations. Jean (or Janet) Clouet (1480–1541) was a miniaturist and painter who worked in France during the Renaissance. He was the father of Francois Clouet. Little is known about Peter Mellen. In a cloth binding with the original unclipped dustwrapper. There is only some slight wear to the extremities, with just some slight bumping. The dustwrapper has some slight bumping. Internally the pages are bright and clean. Near Fine

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
