About This Item

Harvill Press Ltd., London, 1966. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. Inscribed by Author(s). 1st Edition. First Edition (first printing). A presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper to fellow anti-apartheid campaigner Robert Birley and family: "With very great appreciation to the Birleys - Albie Sachs 27/7/68. Canterbury". 8vo. 285pp. Two-tone boards lettered and ruled in gold at the spine. Edges and endpapers quite lightly spotted. A very good copy in rubbed and dust soiled dust wrapper, non-price-clipped but with some chafing and small areas of loss from the spine panel ends and corner tips. A superb presentation copy of Sachs' diary detailing his 168-day solitary confinement for anti-apartheid campaigning..
